Wildlife Trails is a specialist tour
operator that has broken away from the crowd of group tour
operators that offer rushed wildlife tours with little or no flexibility.
Our goal is to fit in with our client’s hopes and aspirations
for their tour, and not the other way round. We have never organised
large group tours on set dates, and our whole company setup and
ethos has always been designed around tailor-made wildlife trips
and the highest possible level of customer service. So whether
it’s a Tiger Safari in India, Gorilla Trekking in Uganda and
Rwanda or Grizzly Bear viewing in British Colombia; let Wildlife
Trails design your ideal wildlife tour.
Tailor-made travel is all about the client: what amount of time
do they have available, when do they want to travel, which parks
do they want to visit, what type of accommodation would they
like to stay in, and what are the aims and aspirations for their
trip? We can only answer all these questions by spending time in
dialogue with our clients on the phone, by email or
post.....lots of time! Yes it is very labour intensive, but it
means that our clients arrive in countries well informed, and
start trips that they have helped design; trips that they really
want.
We started with Tiger Trails in 1999, and our
tailor-made wildlife safaris soon built quite a following amongst
wildlife enthusiasts who wanted expert advice from regular visitors
to the region and control over their itinerary. We were the first
company in India to recommend that clients stay at least four days
in the Tiger Sanctuaries to give themselves a more realistic
schedule and to take away some of the unnecessary pressure on the
guides to ‘show me tiger!’. Our aim was to move way from the ‘zoo’
like experience, where clients were turning up with tour companies
on unrealistic schedules, staying 2 days in a park and expecting to
see every species. This approach proved so successful that we
responded to our clients’ wishes by expanding into new destinations;
the result being the formation of Bear Trails in 2003 and then
Gorilla Trails and Wolf Trails in 2005/2006 respectively. Whether it
is photographing Polar Bears in Churchill, tracking Wolves in
Yellowstone or Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda; you can be assured that
your tour is in the hands of experts who care about the quality of
your experience.
Client Testimonials
I really thank you for
organising such a wonderful holiday for

GUIDES and DRIVERS...every transfer was
accomplished with total attention, and
even when our poor post-sher bagh driver
was caught in a traffic jam coming out
of Jaipur to pick us up, he called his
office in sawai madavpur and sent out
a messenger so we would not worry...we
enjoyed Mr. Rana

Once again we have a treasure trove of
memories, backed up by our daily journal,
and are probably regarded as holiday bores
at the moment, with photo's video and
stories pouring out almost uncontrolled.
Still, that's all part of the holiday
I suppose.
Wonderful!
Best regards,
Two very thrilled clients

Advice to future clients - sit back and
relax whilst Tiger Trails do the work,
then enjoy the unique experiences on offer
in a third world country with first world
attitudes to fellow humans!
Thank you once again for your excellent
assistance in organising our visit.

Overall, a spectacular trip. Robert Ntale,
our guide and driver, was very knowledgeable
about wildlife, especially birds, and
knew his way around every game park. Other
highlights were: Golden monkey trek; Kazinga
Channel boat ride; Murchison Falls boat
ride and visit to the top of the falls;
Lake Mburo game rides (lots of grazing
animals, including zebra); Chimp treks
at Kibale (both treks resulting in good
photos and footage)
Regards to your family

Thank you Bear Trails for contributing
to making our honeymoon a simply unique
and special experience. For those newlyweds
that seek something more than simply soaking
up the sun in the tropics, a wildlife
trip to Canada is the perfect holiday
that balances wildlife and outdoor fun
with fine food and great accommodation…….and
a little adventure.

One other matter which made a big impression
on us was Doug's attitude towards the
bears and the respect with which he clearly
treats them. The itinerary was faultless
and ran very smoothly which was greatly
appreciated. All in all we were extremely
happy with our holiday
Best wishes

Many thanks again for a wonderful experience.
We are already recommending you to whoever
we can and I have convinced Ellen that
we should take a second Bear trails adventure
to see the Polar Bears of Churchill -
probably not until Oct/Nov 2008 but if
this trip is anything to go by I am sure
it will be worth the wait.
Kind regards
Tony & Ellen Scott-Clarke

The itinerary you provided was a fantastic
help, the travel times and directions
were wonderful, made everything so simple.
We would definately recommend you to anyone
we know and will more than likely be in
touch again ourselves once we've recovered
from this trip.
Thanks

Our regular Wildlife Trails trip reports about spectacular wildlife
locations all around the world including India, Sri Lanka, Nepal,
Canada, Uganda and Rwanda, have generated quite a following amongst
our past and future clients. They appreciate the honesty and in
depth knowledge that these reports convey and this is yet another
valuable tool for travellers to use in their pre-trip planning. Our
clients trust our judgement and can relax in the knowledge that
there will be no nasty surprises on arriving at their destination;
unfortunately not all of the travel industry is as transparent or
ethical.
The company was started with the aim to provide spectacular wildlife for our clients and at the same time, to put something back into the local communities living around the parks, who seemed to have been forgotten by the park authorities, hotels and tour companies that all profit from the land which these people used to call home. Through the ‘Tiger Trails Foundation’ we have been working in partnership with villages around the perimeter of Ranthambhore National Park since 2001on initiatives such as water harvesting, tree plantations and education. We were the first and only wildlife tour operator to work directly with a local village in this way. The projects are not ‘hidden’ schemes but are there for all our clients to see when in Ranthambhore and many do take the opportunity to visit. Since April 2006 we have had a ‘wireless’ computer network set up in Ranwal specifically for the children to learn basic computer skills, opening up a wider range of employment options. The network and the employment of a teacher have all been paid for by the Tiger Trails Foundation, which receives 90% of its funds from Wildlife Trails.
